The contribution of cysteine catabolism in 15 modulating responses to cysteine has not been examined, in part because the genes have not 16 been identified and mutants lacking these genes have not been isolated or characterized. 17 We identified the gene for a previously described cysteine desulfhydrase, which we 18 designated as cdsH (formerly STM0458). We also identified a divergently transcribed gene 19 that regulates cdsH expression, which we designated as cutR (formerly ybaO, STM0459). 20 CdsH appears to be the major cysteine-degrading and sulfide-producing enzyme 21 aerobically, but not anaerobically. Mutants with deletions of cdsH and ybaO exhibited 22 Copyright © 2012, American Society for Microbiology. All Rights Reserved. J. RidA, the archetype member of the widely conserved RidA/YER057c/UK114 family of proteins, prevents reactive enamine/imine intermediates from accumulating in Salmonella enterica by catalyzing their hydrolysis to stable keto acid products. In the absence of RidA, endogenous 2-aminoacrylate persists in the cellular environment long enough to damage a growing list of essential metabolic enzymes. Pr...

Background: Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium is one of the most important serovars of Salmonella enterica and is associated with human salmonellosis worldwide. Many epidemiological studies have focused on the characteristics of Salmonella Typhimurium in many countries as well as in Asia. This study was conducted to investigate the genetic characteristics of Salmonella Typhimurium using m...

مقایسه پلیمورفیسم ژنومی و ارتباط ژنتیکی سویههای بالینی سالمونلا انتریکا سرووار تیفی موریوم در استان کرمان به روش ERIC- PCR و Box-PCR
Introduction: Salmonella is one of the most important causes of gastroenteritis in humans. Salmonella enterica Serovar Typhimurium has many hosts in addition to humans, and its prevalence in the community is high. The aim of the study was comparing the genetic diversity of Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium isolated from human fecal samples by both of ERIC-PCR and BOX-PCR method. Methods:...
